Antes de uma agressão física e até chegar ao feminicídio, existe uma violência oculta - a violência do discurso.
Se palavras matam, o que acontece quando as palavras não são sequer reconhecidas como violentas?
Em 2025, 3,7 milhões de mulheres no Brasil sofreram violência doméstica ou familiar. O país
também figura entre os que apresentam maiores índices de feminicídio no mundo. Em Minas
Gerais, entre 2023 e 2025, foram registrados mais de 454 mil casos, com cerca de 1.500
notificações mensais em Belo Horizonte, cidade onde a artista vive.
Compreendendo que um ato violento é um ato de destituição de protagonismo, esse trabalho reune mulheres, acima de 50 anos, que se despem, cada uma a seu modo, e mostram suas marcas a partir de frases violentas que fizeram parte de suas trajetórias. Cada uma das fotografias é o capítulo de uma história, em muitas das quais outras mulheres se reconhecem, com discursos machistas, racistas e misóginos, que são gatilhos da violência nas nossas relações sociais.

If words kill, what happens when words are not even recognized as violent?
In 2025, 3.7 million women in Brazil experienced domestic or family violence. The country also ranks among those with the highest rates of femicide in the world. In Minas Gerais, between 2023 and 2025, more than 454,000 cases were recorded, with around 1,500 reports per month in Belo Horizonte, the city where the artist lives.
Understanding that a violent act is an act of stripping away agency, this work brings together women over the age of 50 who undress, each in her own way, and reveal their marks through violent phrases that have been part of their trajectories. Each photograph is a chapter of a story—stories in which many other women recognize themselves—shaped by sexist, racist, and misogynistic discourses that act as triggers for violence in our social relations
